Highlights
Fascinating how this poll wrapped up.
For customer support use cases, I don't feel betrayed if an AI "wrote" something. For comms with my family and friends, I would.
For B2B content, I wouldn't...but I think any authors who rely on AI should acknowledge it.
Then again, these are the early innings, and I'm sure my views will evolve. When the iPhone came out, I clung to my beloved Blackberry Pearl through undergrad. 10+ years in the Apple cult later....
Wherever we end up, the disinformation and spam landscapes are going to bloom. I just hope modern and smart regulators have an eye on this.
One interesting idea from The New York Times/Ezra Klein show with Kelsey Piper this week:
"You could imagine a fairly sweeping set of government regulations in the next few years that set a cap on how large you can make a model unless it is subject to some form of democratic oversight and extensive testing for safety where we check things, like, can this send a convincing phishing email that persuades 1 percent of users to run code on their computer?
If it can, you can’t generally release it yet.
Can this model give detailed instructions on how to carry out a terrorist attack that if followed, would be successful? If it can, you can’t release it yet."

How often do you think about a presentation 147 days after it happened?
I barely remember how many cups of coffee I've had just today (the answer? Way too many)
