Highlights
It has been a true honor to serve the Nashville LGBT Chamber as CEO for the last 4 years. I have dedicated 9 years of my life to helping build the organization into what it is today as a board member, President, and then CEO. I could not be prouder of the work we have accomplished together. The Chamber has built great momentum and has tremendous potential to advance the core priorities for advocacy, education, and connection.
Change is inevitable and it is evident that the board and staff are no longer aligned. I worked as hard as I could to try and change the issues we were facing with the leadership but in the end, I was not able to. I have been let go and my colleague has resigned. You can read my full statement in the message I sent to members linked below. It is truly heartbreaking that we have gotten here and I hope that members will make the changes needed. I will learn from this and move on and am looking forward to continuing to serve my community.
I want to thank my husband Jim, for his unwavering personal support through all of this. I also want to thank Lauren Bland, my work partner, and friend, who supported me professionally and with whom I could not have done the work. And thanks to the members and community partners the most, we could not have done any of this without you. It has been an honor.
I am truly honored to have been listed again as one of Nashville’s 100 most influential leaders on the Nashville Business Journal Power 100 list as a “Connector.” #nbjpower100
“Today, we introduce you to the Connectors. These business leaders have a wide network, bringing together powerful people to get things done, often behind the scenes. In short, when you need to get in touch with someone, they're who you call.”
As they point out, it was a brutal year and did not go as we hoped. We don’t stop and have much more work to do. I am grateful to lead the Nashville LGBT Chamber and represent our members and community.
Congrats to this year’s fellow Power Connectors who were announced today. It is truly amazing and humbling to be listed among these people, these friends. See them here: https://lnkd.in/eV8ekWXR #business #community #leaders #network #grateful #power #connector
