Highlights
I have witnessed as founder and CEO of GlobalMed firsthand, the incredible transformation of healthcare delivery, and that has been a near 23-year sincere privilege. The American Telemedicine Association (ATA) has led as pioneers in bringing the future of medicine to where it is today, fostering innovation and collaboration that have quite literally changed and saved lives globally. I am so thankful to have been even one tiny part of the change makers in creating virtual/digital care systems that make such a difference. Even 15 years ago, the idea of a live, remote medical consultation, seemed way too futuristic and even impossible. In the early years many compared the technologies needed to Star Trek, Star Wars and the Jetsons... a dream. Today, thanks to the tireless efforts of the ATA staff and leadership, and the countless passionate individuals from academia, hospitals, professional organizations, government, vendors, and members like you reading this, telemedicine is not just a concept, it's a reality that's improving healthcare access and outcomes on a global scale. This year's ATA Nexus 2024 in Phoenix holds a special significance to myself and my team as the greater Phoenix area is where GlobalMed was founded and remains our head quarters to this day. Not only is it a chance to explore the latest advancements in virtual care, but it's a celebration of the ATA's 32nd year of forging the path towards a more connected and efficient healthcare system that benefits us all. I'm incredibly excited to be a part of this momentous occasion. At GlobalMed, we're eager to share our latest innovations designed to empower individuals and organizations to thrive in this complex and ever-evolving healthcare landscape. Whether you're a seasoned telemedicine professional or just starting your journey, ATA Nexus 2024 promises to be an inspiring and informative event. Let's come together, share our knowledge, and push the boundaries of what's possible in creating the care we all want and need for those we love and care for. See you all soon in the 48th state, Arizona! Onward to continuing the future of health care, Joel E. Rarely do I ever post, however today I am compelled to make mention of yesterday’s event at the Arizona Biltmore for the Veteran's Medical Leadership Hero's Luncheon. An amazing, moving event yet again. Thank you to all who are dedicated to our Veterans, their families, our active duty, and reserves. I am also honored to mention the Marine Corps 248th Anniversary this Friday on the 10th of November. Semper Fi.
