Joel Stillman is the Director of Product at JustFix, a position he has held since April 2022.4 He is a seasoned design professional with extensive experience in product design, graphic design, and interactive design.
Prior to his role at JustFix, Joel held several positions at The New York Times, including Director of Product Design, Staff Product Designer & Manager, Lead Product Designer, and Senior Product Designer.4 His career also includes roles such as Art Director at the New York City Mayor's Office of Criminal Justice and Design Lead at the Center for Urban Pedagogy (CUP).
Joel's educational background includes a Master's in Design from California College of the Arts, a Post-Baccalaureate in Graphic & Interactive Design from Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design, Fine Art, and Art History from Skidmore College.
At JustFix, Joel works with teams to increase community access to critical services and information. His goal is to co-create products and processes that enable people to hold power accountable.2 Joel is passionate about using technology for housing justice and runs a civic-centered design practice called Normal Number.1
Outside of work, Joel enjoys road trips, playing guitar, and backpacking in the mountains.3
