Joey earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado Denver and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder. With a solid academic foundation, Joey has excelled in various roles within prominent organizations.

As the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Freedomfi, Joey contributed to shaping the strategic direction of the company and overseeing the technological aspects of the business. Prior to this, Joey held key positions such as Principal Consultant at Maxwell's Wireless and Technical Committee Member at Telecom Infra Project, showcasing a strong industry network and expertise.

At Cablelabs, Joey held several leadership roles including Distinguished Technologist and Director of 3GPP Standardization, Principal Architect, Lead Architect, and Systems Engineer, highlighting a progressive career within the organization. Joey's vast experience also includes roles at Layer3 TV Inc. as a Network Architect and Google, further solidifying expertise in diverse technical environments.

Joey's extensive professional journey encompasses positions like Architect, Access Network and Protocols at Cablelabs, as well as Forensic Engineer at Hamernik & Associates. Furthermore, Joey gained valuable experience as a Show and Ride Engineering Intern at The Walt Disney Company, adding a unique dimension to a rich and varied career in engineering and technology.
