I'm thrilled to share an incredible achievement! We've just set a Guinness World Record for the most participated in-person generative AI hackathon, with 1,130 people involved. This all-day event took place just a day before the 2024 Hankook London E-Prix.
It was truly inspiring to see people come together and learn about AI, especially since 60% of the attendees had never used AI technology before.
A big shoutout to our amazing team. Your hard work and dedication made this event a success. Teamwork is everything!
Effort and focus are key ingredients for success. Luck alone is not a strategy.
Diversity is critical for AI to challenge bias, and it was wonderful to see so many different backgrounds represented at the hackathon.
Finally, the real heroes are those who put in extra effort for the team. A special thank you to the Motorsport Marshall's who took over at our demo pod to explain AI to a family that was attending at the weekend.
I want to personally thank the Formula E and Google teams, as well as Jeff Dodds Ernst Debbie Davis Katharine Horrocks Deb Lee Sam Weeks Ben Spencer Philippa Murphy Laura Wheeler Olly Grundy Tara Brady Rich Radley Chris Lindsay William Allen Tim Edwards for their unwavering support and contributions.
Last but not least, a big thank you to our Google Cloud CEO and friend Thomas Kurian for always supporting our ambitious challenges.
To everyone who made this event possible, thank you! I'm incredibly proud of what you accomplished.
