Highlights
Congrats to Phillip Tracy on starting an MS at Georgia Tech. The Jackets have got a great one. As is my custom, I only write recs for top students, and I require anyone who accepts in a program where I wrote them a letter to send me one size-large t-shirt from their program. In my 27 years on faculty I have a fantastic t-shirt collection :)
Teaching two classes this semester: #iOS App Dev with #SwiftUI, and Physical Computing: Art, Robotics, and Tech for Good with #CircuitPython. Teaching young adults to build things is such a fulfilling career. Even in their first class, students are Incandescent making a first app, or making a device light up and flash different colors. It is a very different learning experience from lecture and discussion. Feeling fortunate that I can be part of providing them with rocket fuel for possibility and opportunity. I miss teaching in Oz and very much hope I can figure a way to go back or split time there, but I also feel exhilerated to be back at Boston College. Our students are brilliant and the university is such a catalyst for their empowerment.
