John Hummel
Deschutes County District Attorney
John Hummel served as the District Attorney for Deschutes County, Oregon, from 2014 to 2022.13 He was elected to the position in May 2014 and took office in January 2015.2 During his eight-year tenure, Hummel focused on implementing innovative crime prevention programs, such as the Veterans Intervention program, and worked closely with law enforcement and non-profit groups to reduce violent crime rates in the county.13
