John Osborne

Co-Founder / CTO Crayon.co

John Osborne is a well-known figure in the early stage venture capital industry through his role at Good Growth Capital (GGC), a firm specializing in science and technology startups.

With a diverse team of five skilled Managing Partners, GGC stands out for its ability to identify and nurture complex startups, with a collective entrepreneurial background that includes starting 18 companies.

GGC's expertise in early stage science and technology investments grants the firm a competitive edge, allowing them to access high potentials in the market ahead of many other venture capital entities.

Apart from the General Fund family which supports seed stage and Series A deals, GGC also operates the Infinite Corridor Fund specifically tailored to MIT-affiliated and transformative science startups at pre-seed and seed stages.

A significant aspect of GGC is its majority women- and minority-owned status, combined with a strategic geographical presence spanning the Southeast and New England regions.

In addition to his venture capital roles, John Osborne is a key member of the Charleston Angel Partners (CHAPS) as part of the Angel Investment Group, supporting emerging companies in the Charleston area.

John's academic background includes an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology - Sloan School of Management and a BS from Stanford University.

His professional journey has seen him hold various roles, from Co-Founder / CTO at Crayon.co, to being a Founder at AppDog, and past positions at renowned companies like AdMob (acquired by Google), Microsoft Corporation, and Plumtree Software (acquired by Oracle), where he contributed in product management and engineering capacities.
