Highlights
It was fantastic to have such a strong attendance at our first PIARC UK event for the 2024-27 cycle on Tuesday, with dozens of representatives coming together from across the public and private sector. Lots of different perspectives from DfT the national committee, young professionals, CIHT, new starters and UKRLG, plus plans for Highways UK. And most importantly, building a community across all our PIARC UK members and understanding their expectations and needs - this will be key to help us shape our activities and comms over the course of this cycle.

Another busy day at the PIARC - World Road Association World Road Congress yesterday, presenting the UK National Report on Digital Roads to the Strategic Direction Session and also to individual delegates as part of the exhibition (thanks to Isobel Wilson for the report!). Lots also happening on the UK pavilion too, great team spirit as always with Team UK, and a thought-provoking presentation from Marshel Weerakone on how National Highways is addressing challenges related to resources and skills, making the workplace a better, fairer and more attractive place for their people. Making some great connections with individuals across global regions and across disciplines (Margo Briessinck, Nicolas Bardou, Philip Gray plus many others), which should create many opportunities to collaborate and strengthen our work in the next cycle. #piarc #piarcuk #wrc2023 #worldroadcongress
