John Rhodes

John Rhodes is an accomplished professional with an extensive background in climate policy, clean energy, and public service.

He served as the Special Assistant to the President for Climate Policy, focusing on clean energy deployment, transmission, and electrification solutions.

As the Chair of the Public Service Commission and CEO of the Department of Public Service, he spearheaded the development and implementation of ambitious and equitable clean energy policies, ensuring reliability and customer protection.

Prior to that, John was the President and CEO of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), where he played a key role in developing innovative clean energy policies, combating climate change, and promoting job creation and investments in New York's clean energy sector.

His tenure at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) as Director for the Center for Market Innovation involved directing private capital towards environmentally beneficial investments, particularly in energy efficiency, renewable energy, green infrastructure, and sustainable food and agriculture.

John brings a wealth of experience from his time as a partner at Booz Allen Hamilton and his roles at Good Energies and Metallgesellschaft in trading and general management within the energy sector.

His educational background includes a Master's Degree in Public and Private Management from Yale School of Organization and Management, as well as studies at Princeton University.

Throughout his career, John has held key positions such as Acting CEO at Long Island Power Authority and Chief Program Officer at the New York State Department of Public Service.

His expertise spans various organizations, including leadership roles at the White House Office of Domestic Climate Policy, the New York State Public Service Commission, and NYSERDA.

John Rhodes is recognized for his strategic leadership in driving clean energy initiatives, climate policy advancements, and fostering sustainable development in the energy sector.
