John Sherman

John Sherman is the co-founder and senior managing director of pfc Social Impact Advisors, llc, with a robust professional background spanning over 35 years in enhancing social and environmental impacts in philanthropy and social investments.

His work involves advising foundations, individual donors, and non-profits on sustainability issues including climate change, sustainable agriculture, marine ecosystems, and forestry at various levels - international, national, state, and local.

John has a Master's in Public Health (MPH) from the University of Michigan and has authored publications on public policy advocacy evaluation and wicked problems.

He is actively involved in several organizations and committees, including chairing the Davidson County Solid Waste Region Board and serving on the American Evaluation Association's Social Impact Measures workgroup and Nashville's Sustainability Advisory Committee.

Specializing in social impact management, leadership, policy advocacy assessment, and community engagement, John's current focus lies at the intersection of philanthropy and private capital.

With a forthcoming book co-authored for Stanford University Press titled, 'Good, Evil, Wicked: The Art, Business, and Science of Philanthropy', John continues to be an active member of Social Value International and Social Value US.
