John Sherwood Jr. is a dedicated Attorney, Consultant, and Educator with 20 years of professional experience. Originally starting his career as a teacher, he transitioned into the field of labor and employment law. His advocacy work spans various areas such as labor arbitration, school admissions, and union representation.

Currently serving as the Director of Human Resources Operations and Labor Compliance at Marriott International, Gaylord National, John leverages his expertise in labor and employment law, collective bargaining, and organizational management. His role involves ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements and providing management consultation for effective leadership.

During his tenure at CSRA (now GD IT), John focused on legislative and policy analysis, program management, and performance management consulting for the US Department of Homeland Security. Leading a team in assessing national critical infrastructure protection efforts, he analyzed data to prioritize programs effectively.

With a strong educational background, John earned a Juris Doctor degree with Magna Cum Laude honors from Michigan State University College of Law, in addition to studying Master of Arts in Secondary Education and Teaching at the University of Alabama and Bachelor of Arts with a Teaching Certificate in Secondary Education and Teaching at Michigan State University.

John's key skills encompass a wide array of legal and management competencies, including labor and employment law, legal consultation, agreement negotiation and drafting, policy development, strategic planning, program management, and more. He is now seeking roles in labor and employment law, whether in-house, at a specialized law firm, or with advocacy organizations.
