Highlights
May was a time to reflect and share our unique lived experiences, which helps broaden our perspectives and deepen our connections to our roots. Throughout Asian Heritage Month I had the privilege of leading an incredible team who put together many successful initiatives throughout the month! Our theme this year “Breaking Barriers, Be Yourself”.
We kicked the month off with a successful event providing our employees the opportunity to hear from our senior leader Gopala (Gops) Narayanan, this followed by a mentorship session led by Sandhya Monstratt and Usman Wasi Khan, CFA where our teams had a chance to learn from 15 different lines of business. A big shout out to committee members Meena Krishnan Yonna Ye Asad Zubair, MBA Jane (Yin) Song, CPA, MBA Ben Wang whose tireless efforts turned this vision into success and a special shout out to Tilisa Gupta Kaul for her incredible leadership to bringing this to life.
This was followed by a successful student event where our leader Usman shared his career story. We had an engaging panel discussion featuring RBC leaders Amy Ng Yohan Mahimwala and Zubair Shah, moderated my Claire Hung. Finally the month ended with an exceptional executive panel with Gary Tamura Vice President & Associate General Counsel for Wealth Management & Insurance; Jennifer T. Lee; Vice-Chair & Senior Partner at Deloitte; and Vinita Savani, MBA, CFA, ICD.D , Senior Vice President, Personal Lending & Auto Finance led by our executive sponsor GTR Regional President Kris Depencier.
