I’ve been immersed in OpenAI and Wolfram|Alpha over the holidays and it’s been really eye-opening. Although I didn’t spend a significant amount of time learning about neural networks, I did get the opportunity Boston University . So, I have a bit of understanding of the complex math behind the ideas as well as the promise of the techniques. One of the critical things we’ve noted in our explorations is the potential to combine “Symbolic” AI approaches that Wolfram|Alpha uses with “Statistical” approaches that OpenAI uses. This hybrid pathway shows a lot of promise — I hope you take the time to read Stephen’s blog post here and explore the examples.
