Highlights
Thank you to The White House and Vice President Kamala Harris for including Shell Foundation's work in her announcement of projects advancing digital inclusion in #Africa. The White House’s Fact Sheet illustrates several partnerships and investments, including #ShellFoundation’s partnership with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Mastercard and Co-operative Bank of Kenya to bring income-raising clean tech to farmers via a digital platform.
Here at the Foundation, we're looking to partner with companies and co-investors that can deliver impact at scale. We're committed to delivering an #EnergyTransition that works for everyone, specifically being focused on energy solutions that are gender intentional and both income raising and emissions cutting.

To scale a green energy transition Shell Foundation needs to partner with the large, well-run family businesses that drive economies in much of the Global South. I was pleased to meet with our partners Alec Davis, Henry Davis and their colleagues from Davis & Shirtliff. D&S is third-generation, family owned, and the leading provider of water and energy equipment to East Africa.
Davis & Shirtliff’s distribution and service capabilities are among the most advanced in the region, and they have significant product development capabilities. Our discussion focused on DayLipa Finance, a joint venture that will leverage D&S’s product, supply chain and distribution network and the digital finance infrastructure of 4RDigital to provide flexible and affordable financing for customers to purchase and use a range of clean energy assets. Shell Foundation is helping de-risk the launch of DayLipa.
This new venture will address a critical challenge: how we make the energy transition work for everyone – Global North and South, men and women, financier and farmer – and empower living incomes through clean energy access. We're looking for more partners like Davis & Shirtliff who share our values and can reach large numbers of customers with clean energy solutions.
