Jonathan Black

Jonathan Black has been the Director of the Careers Service at the University of Oxford since 2008. He studied engineering at the University of Cambridge and began his career as an apprentice engineer in a helicopter factory. He later worked as a management consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton, Strategy Director at Times Mirror in Los Angeles, and Finance Director for an academic publisher in London. He also co-founded a successful medical publishing start-up and served as Director of Corporate Affairs at Oxford's Saïd Business School.12

In his current role, Jonathan provides career coaching, organizes workshops, and develops innovative programs to enhance student employability. He is also a Fellow and Tutor for Welfare at New College, Oxford. Additionally, he writes the "Dear Jonathan" career advice column for the Financial Times and authored the book Where am I going and can I have a map?.123
