Highlights
This past week, I completed my first week of work at In-Position Technologies. Even after such a short time of being with the company, I have already been amazed by the solutions enabled by autonomous robotic systems. I am extremely excited to continue working at IPTech as I finish my last quarter of college at the University of Denver. Following graduation, I will begin full-time work as an Applications Engineer at IPTech. Thank you to everyone that has helped me along the way. Robots are the future!
This year, for my senior design project, my teammates and I were tasked with competing in the National Fluid Power Association's Fluid Power Vehicle Challenge, a collegiate competition in which students design, build, and race hydraulically powered vehicles. Like most hydraulic systems, our design utilized a hydraulic manifold, compressing the majority of the components into one optimized block. This year, for the first time, the NFPA allowed teams to fully custom design their manifold, rather than having industry professionals design it for them. As the team member in charge of designing the manifold, I had the unique opportunity of working with VEST, Inc. Engineers to design our hydraulic manifold from scratch. It was amazing to have access to industry software such as MDTools and allowed me to understand the functionality and specifications of hydraulic manifolds at a much higher level. I cannot wait to install the physical manifold and continue working on our vehicle for the competition in April!
