I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Senior Project Designer at GM Financial.

I’m very grateful for my time at Affirma and the amazing people there. Highly recommend the organization and people. I got to work on a wide range of projects for small companies to some of the biggest tech companies. It was such a great place to exercise my UX and problem solving muscles. My colleagues and their support really made it a great environment to learn, grow, and create.

My next adventure takes me to GM Financial to work on some exciting projects. I was attracted, again, by the people and work culture. Looking forward to collaborating and making some cool stuff!

This post is kind of about how a simple volunteer gig turned into a board of directors role for me, but make no mistake I'm definitely trying to get you to >>💸 SPEND YOUR #BLACKFRIDAY MONEY💰<< on cool proucts that support refugee artisans at Kibebe.com. Yes, there will be a sale.

In June I volunteered as a #UXDesigner for a small non-profit based in #Malawi called Kibébé International as a way to help others while gaining experience during COVID-unemployment.

We have a US-based e-commerce site selling baby and home goods made by refugee artisans. The team is very small--the founder + three US volunteers. Right away I saw where I could help them with more than #UXDesign, such as #marketing, #socialemedia, and #photography. After a few months I was asked to join the board of directors.

There's plenty more to tell but let's get right to it: This organization makes unique, colorful products that make great gifts and supports talented folks who don't have a lot. YOU SHOULD SHOP HERE ON #BLACKFRIDAY

Yes, this is a non-proft, but we all know people are drawn to discounts. So we're getting in the game to spread the good word:

20% off the entire site #BlackFriday thru #CyberMonday

🎁 Please consider Kibebe.com this holiday season. 👍 Give us a follow on IG @kibebe_malawi
