Highlights
Today is Rooster Teeth's 21st anniversary. As one of the company’s founders, Burnie Burns, observed, “In dog years that’s 147 years. In entertainment years it’s half a millennium and on the Internet I think it’s approaching infinity. But not quite.” For a company whose journey began with a spark of original creativity that captured the hearts and minds of a young, hungry, and disenfranchised audience before the advent of YouTube, the iPhone, and modern social media, that is an extraordinary achievement.
Unfortunately, as you’ve likely heard by now, Rooster Teeth as we’ve known it will be winding down, succumbing to the market forces upending the entertainment industry and undermining the digital media ecosystem. I remain confident that many of Rooster Teeth’s higher profile and more innovative businesses, brands, franchises, and shows will live on, but the reason I‘m posting this message is because the enormously talented colleagues and artists that I’ve had the privilege of partnering with and learning from over the past five years are now available and looking for their next professional opportunity.
Their scope of experience is broad and spans: creative ideation, development, management, and physical production across a variety of genres and formats, animation, post-production, VFX, content ops, data analytics, business intelligence, community management and moderation, social media, marketing, media planning, customer support, eCommerce, consumer products, design, licensing, merchandising, technology, product & engineering, strategic planning, business development, finance, accounting, facilities, HR, and People & Culture.
This is an innately ambitious and agile group, filled with ambition, entrepreneurial spirit, unwavering passion, and unlimited potential. Most call Austin home, some are in Los Angeles, and others spread out across the country. If you are hiring and looking to build your team, please don’t hesitate to reach out so that I can introduce you to members of our team, the ones responsible for helping to build Rooster Teeth into a transformative DTC entertainment company. I would be delighted to tell you more about them and how they can contribute to growing your enterprise. Thank you for your consideration.
Congrats to Adam Bersin, Tony Simonetta, Michele Sontag Wes Ellis, Ashleigh McNew and the rest of the marketing and design team at Rooster Teeth, and Hannah Young and her amazing colleagues at Guerilla Suit for bringing the Rooster Teeth rebrand to life in celebration of Rooster Teeth's upcoming 20th Anniversary!
