It is my complete honor to introduce the BetterStove, the best gasification stove in the world, meeting WHO’s stringent Tier 5 emission standards.

A stove we have worked on for more than 3+ years, just after I founded the company with my business partner Tom Price.

A stove that is designed top to bottom based on the customer’s feedback and needs.

No smoke. No smell. Just Better.

This is the new standard for clean cooking in Africa. And I couldn’t be prouder.

Every day we’re working to fight climate change and deforestation, and today took an important step forward. 🌍🌳

We know clean cooking can make a big impact on climate, while saving families money and improving health in the process. But we also know to reach the scale the moment demands, the clean cooking sector needs to unlock the full impact potential of the carbon markets – an area where experts have rightly been skeptical.

That’s why we’re so proud to share a major milestone for EcoSafi. Today, we are announcing the first-ever carbon credits in Africa issued under Gold Standard’s high-integrity MECD methodology.

Gold Standard is recognized as having the most robust measurements in the industry, and the MECD methodology in particular is Gold Standard’s most stringent. It links the calculation of carbon credits directly to metrics like stove use and fuel sales. We then "topped up" their requirements with additional proving, like 100% individual baseline surveys.

We’ve built this type of carbon verification into our product and business model so we can prove this level of accuracy pays off in the form of high-quality, high-integrity carbon credits. At EcoSafi, we're proud work alongside others in the clean cooking industry to build a stronger market for impact, founded on trust and transparency. We believe more verified carbon credits will give buyers confidence that the offsets they’re purchasing are delivering the proven impact they want to see in the world. When we do that, they'll be more willing to pay the full value for the positive change they are creating, which will help us all deliver even more impact.
