Lessons for America from the president of a tiny nation
After many disappointments over time, I've become apolitical. Traditional politicians, with their selfish goals, have let me down, reinforcing my belief that I am the only one who truly cares for me and my family. This sentiment extends beyond US politics, particularly resonating with the state of affairs in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). For centuries, corruption and inept administrations have ravaged this region, leaving it in what seemed like a hopeless state.
However, in the past few years, my perspective has been challenged by Nayib Bukele, a visionary and brilliant leader. A few weeks ago, I honored him with my "Cojones Award" for his exceptional courage in leading his country out of gang control and towards a free society where people can thrive in peace and for calling out people like George Soros and his world view political agenda. I'm also extremely proud that our company, along with our partner Athena Bitcoin, have played a part in El Salvador's adoption of Bitcoin as an alternative currency, driving the Chivo ATMs that facilitate Bitcoin transactions for its citizens.
While I remain cautious in my support for any politician, President Bukele has so far earned my admiration and support through his incredible courage, vision, and leadership.
