Jorge Gomes is a dedicated professional with a strong background in Computer Science and Software Engineering.

He pursued his academic journey at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon, excelling in his studies and earning degrees in Computer Science Engineering.

During his academic years from 2008 to 2013, he focused on specializing in Software Engineering with a keen interest in web applications, particularly in the areas of accessibility, human-computer interaction, gamification, and usability.

Jorge's professional experience includes working as a Research Assistant at the Large-Scale Informatics Systems Laboratory (LASIGE), contributing to projects related to web applications and accessibility for visually impaired individuals.

In 2012, he co-founded a political movement advocating for the creation of the Portuguese Pirate Party, showcasing his diverse interests beyond technology.

From 2013 to 2015, Jorge worked as a consultant at Novabase, where he was involved in developing corporate web portals for EDP Energias de Portugal, demonstrating his expertise in web development and corporate solutions.

His passion for youth development and non-formal education led him to engage with the Rota Jovem Youth Association, where he served as a Treasurer from 2015 to 2017, acquiring valuable skills in organizational management and youth empowerment.

Jorge's commitment to social entrepreneurship and cooperativism led him to join the Coop Jovem program in 2016, aiming to create social business plans and foster partnerships in the youth sector, ultimately leading to the establishment of the Youth Coop in 2018.

With a strong educational foundation and a diverse professional background, Jorge Gomes continues to make significant contributions to the fields of technology, youth development, and social entrepreneurship.
