After a few years of working in my most recent role, I decided to take a risk and leave with nothing else lined up. I left a job that on paper was great - I was growing in my role, the business was scaling quickly, and things were generally going really well. But for many different reasons, I was unhappy. For the first time in my career, I decided to prioritize my happiness, my well-being, my emotional wellness and health, and just focus on myself. So I quit with no idea what would come next for me. It was so scary! But I’ve never felt better about the decision I made. I felt liberated from the past, excited about the future, curious about the unknown, and eager for what was next. I focused on prioritizing what was important to me, on not jumping into the next thing too quickly, and about being very intentional about my next move. I feel so fortunate that I had many amazing interviews (and offers!) at incredible companies but rather than accepting what looked shiny and exciting, I focused on finding a role at a company that valued the same things as I did and prioritized what I found to be most important.
I’m so excited to share that I’ve recently started what feels like my dream job, at a dream company, on a dream team. I couldn’t be happier and more excited to be joining Salesforce to run operations for the employee engagement team. This job is a combination of everything I’ve been searching for and I couldn’t feel more validated for taking the risks I did and landing exactly where I’m meant to be. So to anyone that’s not happy where they are, I encourage you to ask yourself if it’s worth it and to challenge yourself to take a risk. Without that, you won’t get that chance to see what’s waiting out there for you.
