Highlights
Even the best job in the world is still work.
Confession: I worked full-time for an adult kickball league. For 3 years.
I flew all over the U.S., running leagues and tournaments - there were 20,000 players every year!
But honestly, I still didn’t feel passionate about the work.
The job was a blast and the people were awesome, but even still:
- The pay was incredibly low.
- I didn’t feel like I was growing professionally.
- The daily tasks became repetitive and monotonous.
- The work didn’t align with my long-term career goals.
- The job lacked the challenge I needed to stay engaged.
The perks were fun, the travel was great, and I developed as a leader.
Plus I loved my coworkers - they were some of the most amazing people I’ve ever met.
But the WORK itself? Not so much.
Around that time, I started my first company.
Then I finally understood what it was like to be passionate about what I was doing, every day.
When your 𝗷𝗼𝗯 aligns with your values, skills, and interests, you’ve found yourself a career.
If you’re firing off 100+ applications every week, I’ve got news for you...
You’re doing it wrong.
These days, you’re trying to stand out in a crowd of hundreds of applications:
- Quantity over quality? That’s a fast track to nowhere.
- Generic resumes? Straight to the “meh” pile.
- No tailoring? You’re not even in the running.
Quality applications take more time.
You’ll submit fewer each week.
But imagine this:
You spend your week crafting 5-10 solid, tailored applications.
This means:
- More eyeballs on your resume
- More interest from hiring managers
- More interviews
- More job offers
Before you read this → “I need to apply to HUNDREDS of jobs every week.”
After you read this → “I only need to submit 5 QUALITY applications per week.”
The secret to landing your next gig?
Focus on QUALITY, and let the QUANTITY sort itself out.
