Highlights
After nearly two years with the Provenance Blockchain Foundation and getting to be part of some industry leading accomplishments, I’ve decided to step down as Head of Developer Ecosystem. However, I’m pleased to say that I’ll be staying on in another capacity and supporting the ecosystem as an advisor—joining what I think is one of the top advisory teams in the space.
Huge thanks to the PBF team and the broader ecosystem of builders and developers for the trust, collaboration, and general gritty will to roll sleeves up and just get things done. Essentially starting from zero we:
— Grew into the largest public L1 by RWA TVL w/ $10B+ of assets — Created the largest grants program for financial services on blockchain. — Brought in headline PoCs like JP Morgan’s Project Guardian w/ Apollo, MAS, and Axelar — All credit to Figure, but the ecosystem welcomed 10 of the top 20 mortgage providers in the US who collectively brought a mind bending 6% of all US HELOCs onto blockchain—the only asset class we’re aware of to be truly disrupted by blockchain — Aggregated multiple ATS options, broker-dealers, markets, and many of the leading SIs in blockchain, TradFi, and FinTech… making it easier, cheaper, faster and safer to manage the end-to-end financial digital asset lifecycle
In the coming days/weeks, I’ll discuss my next steps/role focused on tackling one of the hardest problems left to solve in this space—other than the regulatory stack and maybe identity ;)—, privacy that’s compliant, affordable, and on decentralized public blockchains.
Quick ask for those in my network. Late last year my 12-year-old asked if we could go for a drive—where we do our best talking. She told me she felt like she was growing up and had decided to become a business woman who will probably make robots. She asked if I would teach her how to start a business. After doing a few mental fist pumps, I said yeah but if we do this, I won’t let you quit for at least 6 months; it will be hard work and there will be a lot of nights where you won’t feel like doing it. We set a schedule. She came to my co-working space three nights a week and grinded it out writing, designing, editing, learning about ads, launch strategies, iterative product development, AI etc… six weeks have gone by and she just published her first product. Super proud.
