I know this is last minute since the conference is on May 18th. R/Finance needs speakers from underrepresented groups, particularly women, who can present topics related to financial markets and/or time series analysis.

The conference is on May 18th in Chicago, so we would really appreciate it if you could share this and reach out to anyone in your network who would be willing and able to present.

We know speaking at a conference can be intimidating, so we're here to help you prepare, and you can give a 5-7 minute lightning talk if that would be more comfortable for you.

There's a huge benefit to presenting: it lets everyone at the conference know what you're interested in, which creates opportunity to have conversations with people with that common interest.

EDIT: here's some context, based on helpful feedback I received privately. We don't invite speakers, they respond to the call for presenters. We usually get 50+ submissions. We only have 25 right now. There are usually some women in that group. Right now there are 0. That's why I specifically mentioned the need for women speakers.
