Josie Nicholson

Josie Nicholson is a seasoned professional in counseling and sport psychology with a broad range of experiences in university counseling centers and private practice.

Josie graduated with a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology from The University of Southern Mississippi, after earning a B.A. in Psychology alongside Visual Arts from Loyola University New Orleans.

Having worked at renowned institutions such as the University of Florida, Colorado State University, and the University of Mississippi, Josie has developed expertise in areas such as performance enhancement, stress and anxiety management, EMDR, clinical hypnosis, and group counseling.

Josie has a special affinity for working with athletes and has leveraged her skills both in individual and group settings. Josie's passion for sport psychology led her to establish Arc Counseling & Sport Performance, a private practice where she provided specialized services.

Josie's career includes roles such as Assistant Athletic Director for Sport Psychology at the University of Mississippi and a psychology intern at Colorado State University. She has also hosted the mental health podcast Unit3d for student-athletes and served as a counselor at the University of Mississippi Counseling Center.

As a native of Oxford, MS, Josie found her way back to her hometown in 2011 to work with student-athletes at Ole Miss, demonstrating her commitment to empowering athletes in their mental well-being and performance.
