Josie Osborne is a highly accomplished individual with a diverse background in marine biology, fisheries management, and community leadership.

She holds a Master's degree in Resource Management (MRM) with a focus on Fisheries Management from Simon Fraser University and a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from The University of British Columbia.

Josie has a rich history of involvement in various organizations, showcasing her strong leadership and communication skills.

She is a member of the BC NDP party and has previously served as the Mayor of Tofino, BC, demonstrating her commitment to public service and community development.

In her professional journey, Josie has held roles such as Facilitation and Communications at Self Employed, Chair of the Board of Directors at Island Coastal Economic Trust, and Chair of the Board at Tourism Tofino.

She has also contributed to the field of education and environmental conservation as the Executive Director of Tofino Botanical Gardens Foundation, Chair at the 12th International Congress of Ethnobiology, and Executive Director at Raincoast Education Society.

Josie's experience as a Fisheries Biologist at Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council further solidifies her expertise in environmental sciences and indigenous knowledge.

Her passion for sustainable practices and community engagement shines through her extensive involvement in various capacities, making her a respected figure in her field.
