Juan Barrios is an economist with a rich academic background and a diverse professional experience across various renowned institutions.

He holds a Master of Science in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science, a Master's Degree in Applied Economics from Northeastern University, a BA in Economia Aplicada from Universidad Centroamericana in Managua, and a Masters in Globalization and Economic Development from the University of Antwerp.

Currently, Juan serves as a Country Economist for El Salvador at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), where he leverages his expertise to contribute to economic growth and development in the region.

Prior to his current position, he held roles within IDB as an Economist for Venezuela and as a Consultant. Juan also has experience as a Faculty Researcher at the INCAE Business School, a Corporate Credit Analyst at Banpro Grupo Promerica, and a Research Assistant at Instituto de Investigación y Desarrollo Nitlapan UCA.

His career trajectory showcases a passion for economics and a commitment to making a positive impact through his work in academia, research, and financial analysis.
