Highlights
Last week I had the honor of delivering the keynote address at the opening of DOE's Grid Storage Launchpad (GSL) located at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and discussing how far the energy storage industry has come in the last fifteen years. We have made great progress, but there is still more to do. GSL will play a big part in developing the next generation of battery resources for use on the power grid. GSL is a new 93,000 SF R&D facility that will accelerate the development of grid energy storage technologies that are safer, more cost effective, and more durable. Congratulations and thank you to Eric Hsieh, Steven Ashby, Jud Virden and all those who worked to make this new facility a reality.
It was great to see our amazing Fortescue WAE Heavy Industry team in Perth last week. This team is truly making the impossible possible -- fantastic progress being made on our Infinity train, which uses the gravitational energy from moving iron ore to the coast coupled with best in tech regenerative braking to eliminate charging, and the first of its kind hydrogen fuel cell electric mining haul truck. 👏 #WeAccelerate
