Last week, I had the pleasure of participating in a panel discussion on "Bending the Curve to Increase Apprenticeships" and previewing the Mayor’s Office of Talent and Workforce Development's "NYC Apprenticeship Landscape Report," conducted by NYC Talent and New York Jobs CEO Council, funded by the Robin Hood and prepared by Accenture.
The comprehensive report mapped out the current apprenticeship landscape and unveiled NYC's commitment to connect 30,000 New Yorkers to apprenticeships by 2030. It's an ambitious and important goal that has the potential to drive real and deep impact in the lives of New Yorkers.
As an organization that's long sought to create pathways to life-changing economic opportunity, I was excited to witness such enthusiasm about the ways we can continue to catalyze apprenticeships and to hear from leaders in government, business, and workforce about the ways we can partner together to achieve a transformative goal.
A huge congratulations to Abby Jo Sigal and NYC Talent for spearheading this work. A special thanks to Christine AuYeung and our partners at Robin Hood Foundation for funding the report; RH has been long-time partners of Pursuit, and their leadership remains invaluable not only for us but the wider NYC community. And finally, thank you to Accenture for preparing the preview and hosting such an important event at your beautiful NYC office.
I'm passionate and excited about the work ahead, and I'm looking forward to partnering with the city, community partners, and NYC employers to drive results and help create a better future for New Yorkers!
