Jules Torti is an accomplished individual with a diverse educational background and a wealth of experience in the legal and civil rights sectors. Jules holds a JD in Law from New York University, studied international development studies and French during a study abroad program in Cameroon at the School for International Training, and earned a BA in Political Science from Duke University. Throughout their career, Jules has been associated with several reputable organizations, including serving as a Civil Rights Attorney at the United States Attorney's Office in the District of Vermont, a Cochran Fellow at Neufeld Scheck & Brustin LLP, and as a Law Clerk at the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit as well as the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Jules has also contributed to various legal and advocacy initiatives, having undertaken roles such as Legal Intern at the ACLU Criminal Law Reform Project and the USDOJ Civil Rights Division, as well as a Student Advocate at the Capital Defense and Equal Justice Clinic with the Equal Justice Initiative. Jules has further demonstrated a commitment to social issues by volunteering as a Helpline and Education Volunteer at The Trevor Project and interning at organizations like the International Lesbian and Gay Association of Europe. Additionally, Jules has experience in operations and business development coordination from their time at OpenPlans and has contributed to research efforts as a Research Intern at the Public Policy Institute of California.
