Julia Bourque

Julia Bourque has been dedicated to supporting undergraduate and graduate students with their job and internship searches since 2014. Her role has involved providing individual coaching, developing educational programs, managing funding opportunities, and fostering relationships within the Yale community.

Julia is known for her strong leadership skills, project execution abilities, and empathy towards students. She is proactive in launching new initiatives to assist students in their career exploration and job search. Her approach is characterized by being approachable, calm, and action-oriented.

In addition to her coaching responsibilities, Julia has designed and facilitated career-oriented workshops using design thinking techniques. She has also pioneered a series of peer-to-peer video advice sessions for early-career students under her guidance.

Outside of work, Julia enjoys skiing, snowboarding, running, and engaging in New York Times crossword puzzles.

Julia holds a Master of Arts in International Education from SIT Graduate Institute and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Boston University. Her notable positions at Yale University include Career Coach at the Career Development Office, Senior Associate Director at the Office of Career Strategy, Associate Director at the Office of Career Strategy, and Assistant Director at the Office of Career Strategy. Prior to her time at Yale, she held various roles such as an Intern at the Office of International Students & Scholars, Community Engagement & Student Services Intern at The Umbra Institute, Program Assistant for Europe and Brazil at SIT Study Abroad, and English Language Assistant at Ministère français de l’Éducation nationale.
