Why don’t you just build on top of Quickbooks - wouldn’t that be easier?
A question we got time and time again when fundraising.
A lot of “accounting” startups today are building on top of the Quickbooks general ledger. We decided not to go that route.
Why? Time and time again, we found that the foundational financial data in Quickbooks is wrong. Quickbooks’ integrations and poor categorization make for a messy data layer, and one that’s oftentimes months stale.
You can build a beautiful dashboard to plug into QBO - but if the data is wrong, the graphs will be useless.
Garbage in means garbage out 😓
It’s important to us at DayZero to own the general ledger so we can ensure that the foundational data layer is clean, transparent and up to date 🤩
Only after ensuring data accuracy does building helpful and insightful financial products become possible 💫 #ai #accounting #smallbusiness #finance #fintech #startups #SaaS #verticalSaaS
