Julian Florez

Julian Florez is an accomplished individual with a diverse educational background and extensive experience in various organizations.

He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Economics from Universidad EAFIT and The Australian National University. Additionally, he pursued a Master of Arts in International Relations along with Certificates of Advanced Study in Conflict Resolution and Postconflict Reconstruction from Syracuse University - Maxwell School.

With a rich history of involvement in multiple roles, Julian has contributed significantly to the World Food Programme. He has served as a Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff, Strategic Adviser and Special Assistant to the Regional Director for East and Central Africa, Government Partnerships Officer, Special Assistant to the Director, and more at the organization.

Beyond his tenure at the World Food Programme, Julian has worked in various capacities including as an External Relations Consultant at the World Food Programme, a Fellow at the United Nations Information Center, an External Relations Assistant at the International Fund for Agricultural Development, and a Cash and Voucher Project Assistant at the World Food Programme, among others.

His professional journey also includes stints as a Fellow/Research Assistant at Syracuse University, an International Cooperation Consultant at Alcaldía de Medellín, a Research Assistant at Asia Pacific Studies Centre at Universidad EAFIT, and a Congressional Intern at the Colombian Government Trade Bureau in Washington DC.
