Julian Ledesma is a seasoned higher education professional with over 20 years of experience in the field. He excels in coordinating diversity and inclusion programs and initiatives and is a recognized expert in multicultural counseling, first year transition, and the needs of underrepresented student populations.

Julian has a proven track record of managing large organizations and supervising multiple levels of staff. He is a skilled workshop presenter and group facilitator, with fluency in Spanish that allows him to effectively engage with Spanish-speaking clients.

Some of Julian's notable accomplishments include receiving the Excellence in Advising Award for both 'Advising Hero' and 'Outstanding Advising Administrator,' as well as the Berkeley Staff Assembly's 'Excellence in Management Award.' He has been involved in various equity and inclusion initiatives, such as the 'Authentic Berkeley' Project Coordinator and the 'Advising as a Social Justice Practice' Conference Chair.

In terms of education, Julian studied Sociology for his Bachelor's degree at the University of California, Berkeley, and pursued Communication and Media Studies for his Master's degree at San Francisco State University.

Julian's extensive professional background includes roles such as Executive Director, Interim Executive Director, and Associate Director at UC Berkeley's Centers for Educational Equity and Excellence (CE3). He has also held positions including Director, Academic Counselor/Coordinator at the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), and College Advisor at the College of Letters and Science at UC Berkeley.
