Future train route and station locations for Fishermans Bend!

Transport planning is underway to ensure people who live, work and study in Fishermans Bend have access to public transport and essential amenities. Families in Fishermans Bend and Port Melbourne are also a step closer to a new primary school, with the recent Victorian Government decision to acquire land in Wirraway.

The Victorian Government has endorsed a preferred route for a future rail tunnel through Fishermans Bend and Docklands. Confirmation of the preferred route and station locations in the precinct provides certainty to landowners, businesses, and property developers, marking another step forward in the renewal of Fishermans Bend.

Set to open in 2026 the Fishermans Bend Primary School (interim name) will be the third new school delivered in the precinct. Along with South Melbourne Park Primary School in Montague, and Port Melbourne Secondary College also in Wirraway, these schools will help meet the needs of the growing population across the area.

The announcement also complements the State Government’s delivery of almost 1500 additional bus services in Fishermans Bend since 2022.
