Ever wondered how radical transparency works?
Deborah Rippol, our People & Talent Lead here at Zefir pushes once again our culture to be really open and factual when defining job titles and providing visibility not only to internal but also external people 🔍
We define our job titles and we are entirely open about compensation 📖. Instead of having a grid (or having nothing at all 🤠), we have an explicit formula and job descriptions.
Our titles help us to:
- easily understand other's functional team
- easily understand other's business unit (pricing, seller experience, etc)
- understand if they have ownership over other people's outputs
- and my favorite: it segments the people that are more concerned about showing to the world that they have responsibilities vs. people that mainly care about solving real issues and improving themselves every single day 😈
And our transparent compensation helps us to:
- avoid salary negotiations with absolutely no facts to back it up (especially when it happens at the end of a 4-step recruitment process)
- bring clarity to a sensitive topic
- eliminate compensation biases
These are only two of many initiatives we have in place to make Zefir more transparent, fairer, less subjective, and more output-driven.
