Professional Background
Julio Santo Domingo is an esteemed DJ, entrepreneur, and sustainability advocate, who has made significant contributions to both the music and environmental sectors. Born in Phoenix, Arizona and raised in picturesque Geneva, Switzerland, Julio began his journey in music in the year 2000 as a reggae DJ on his high school radio show. This early experience fueled his passion for music and laid the foundation for a thriving career in the industry.
In 2003, Julio moved back to the United States to pursue a university education in Boston. His time there was transformative, allowing him to immerse himself in the vibrant music culture of the region. In February 2008, Julio co-founded the artist collective "Sheik N Beik" in New York City, which became a cornerstone for promoting house and techno music. He hosted weekly events at various lounges and clubs, establishing a loyal following in the city's dynamic nightlife scene while also engaging in monthly broadcasts on Daiikon's Basic.ch Internet Radio in Switzerland. This platform, one of the earliest Internet radio stations dedicated to alternative music, served as an avenue for Julio to showcase his diverse musical talents.
To further enhance his music production skills, Julio attended the School of Audio Engineering (SAE) in New York City in 2010. It was during this period that he released his first track, "Slurpy," as part of a compilation on Biatch Corp Recordings. This marked the beginning of a promising trajectory in music production.
In April 2014, he took a significant step by founding Sheik N Beik Records, which initially focused on vinyl releases before transitioning to digital formats. His entrepreneurial spirit continued to shine brightly when, in May 2015, he established Soundslinger, responsible for the creation and production of the renowned Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival in Florida—a celebrated multi-genre camping festival that garners a loyal fanbase. Under Julio's leadership, Soundslinger acquired the sprawling 800+ acre Sunshine Grove, setting the stage for a unique blend of hospitality and live events.
His influence in the music industry expanded in March 2016 when he acquired the iconic Brooklyn record store brand Halcyon The Shop, further solidifying his status as a key player in the music retail landscape with a global distribution network.

Sungai Watch, an offshoot of his efforts with Make A Change World, embodies Julio's commitment to cleaning rivers in Bali and Java, leading to the inception of Sungai Design in November 2022. This innovative design company upcycles collected trash to create unique furniture and designs, further promoting sustainability and environmental consciousness.
