Justin Elszasz is an experienced data scientist, engineer, and public servant dedicated to supporting good government and decision-making through data-driven insights.

His educational background includes a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Energy Systems from Columbia University in the City of New York and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University.

In his professional journey, Justin has held various key roles such as Chief Data Officer at the City of Baltimore, Adjunct Faculty Instructor at Maryland Institute College of Art, Deputy Director, and Analytics Lead at the Mayor's Office of Performance & Innovation in Baltimore.

Prior to his current roles, he has gathered experience working as a Data Scientist at the Mayor's Office of Innovation in Baltimore, a Managing Consultant at Navigant, and as a National Science Foundation Fellow and PhD Candidate at the Sustainable Engineering Lab at Columbia University.

Justin has also worked as a Product Development Engineer at Biomet, participated in a Short Training Program at von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics, and served as a Design Engineer Co-op at Parker Hannifin.

His professional journey includes roles as a Student at NASA Glenn Research Center, an Apprentice Machinist at Mercury Machine, and an Intern in the Stormwater Department at the Lake County Engineer's Office.
