Justin Freiberg

Managing Director, Carbon Containment Lab

Justin Freiberg is a highly accomplished individual with a diverse educational background and a wealth of experience in the environmental and conservation sectors.

His academic journey includes studying MESc in Environmental Science at Yale School of the Environment, a Certificate in Conservation Biology with a Specialization in Economics, Management, and Finance from Columbia University, as well as MA and BA degrees in Psychology from Wesleyan University.

During his professional career, Justin has held various key roles in organizations of high repute. He served as a Managing Director at Carbon Containment Lab, an Executive in Residence at ClimateHaven, and a Senior Fellow at the Environmental Leadership Program.

Furthermore, he has contributed significantly to the academic realm through positions such as Managing Director at Yale Carbon Containment Lab, Mentor in Residence at Tsai Center for Innovative Thinking at Yale (Tsai CITY), and Founder and Director of the Yale Landscape Lab at Yale University.

His passion for sustainability and environmental conservation is evident from his roles as the West Campus Urban Farm and Sustainability Project Manager at Yale University, Co-Founder of Encendia Biochar, and Founder and Director of the Urban Foodshed Collaborative.

Justin's commitment to wildlife conservation is highlighted through his involvement with the WCS Institute - Conservation Psychology at Wildlife Conservation Society and his contribution to public programs and education at the Stone Barns Center for Food & Agriculture.

With a strong educational foundation and a diverse professional portfolio, Justin Freiberg continues to be a driving force in the environmental and conservation fields, bringing innovation and expertise to the forefront of sustainable practices.
