Founder @TheFlipAfrica

Justin Norman is the Founder, Producer, and Host of The Flip, an editorial-style podcast and weekly newsletter exploring contextually relevant insights from entrepreneurs and investors changing the status quo in Africa.14 He is an American expat and entrepreneur based in Johannesburg, South Africa.3

Norman started The Flip in May 2019 after moving to South Africa in 2017.14 He was inspired to create the podcast due to a lack of in-depth content on the African tech ecosystem.2 The name "The Flip" comes from the opportunity to flip the script and challenge pervasive narratives about entrepreneurship in Africa.1

In addition to The Flip, Norman is also:

  • An investor at Rally Cap Ventures (since July 2020)4
  • Founder of Concurrent Media Group (since January 2018)4

Previously, he worked as:

  • Head of Special Projects at Heavy Chef (Pty) Ltd (October 2018 - December 2019)4
  • Manager of Partnership Marketing at IMG College (January 2016 - June 2017)4

Norman holds a degree from the University of Michigan (2008-2012).4
