Things to keep in mind as LLM’s gain traction and integrate more deeply within our personal lives. While powerful and productivity-enhancing, they can deprecate some of our innate abilities—a bit like relying 100% on GPS and losing the ability to direction-find instinctively. Conclusions are useful, but understanding the logic behind the journey to that conclusion is most important / instructive for future decision-making.

As industries consolidate and new technologies emerge, executives need to embrace continuous learning to maintain a competitive edge. I’ve noted before and it’s becoming more commonly agreed that faster learning can be the sole sustainable competitive advantage in an environment of more rapid intelligence-augmentation. The article below stresses the necessity of overcoming biases against new tasks and ventures, pushing oneself to acquire diverse skills despite discomfort—learning, essentially, in an environment where answers / conclusions are just a prompt away.

The article has a good, practical framework for cementing a learning pattern. In particular, I liked the discussion around assessing self-awareness and spending time framing questions and tasks. Both of these contribute to a robust learning mindset and developing a simple toolkit to stay fresh with it over time.

Origin began a relationship with Infor several years ago and it has been picking up steam significantly in the last eighteen months or so. The Infor platform is expansive for the municipal market and we're very happy to be a key partner in delivering the utility billing component in many instances. Working with West Basin has been a treat and, while many IT projects can be deeply challenging, the implementation of Infor Utility Billing for West Basin was a case study in how a great customer combined with an excellent project manager and strong technical team can hit it out of the park. Well done to everyone!
