Highlights
In 1962, Bob Dylan wrote one of the most iconic folk songs of all time in 10 minutes (without AI). Here's what gets me:
Dylan didn't sweat every word.
No obsessing with ideas, tools, outlines, or the "perfect" conditions.
He just let it rip.
And the song went on to become a generation defining anthem.
It made me realize how much I overcomplicate my writing.
I worry about what people might think.
I get caught up in the details.
But it's simpler than that.
Show up.
Sit down.
Write.
"Keep it simple stupid."
All you need is the seed of an idea and the courage to put it down.
That's it.
So today, I'm challenging myself (and you) to stop overthinking and start creating.
What could you make in 10 minutes if you just let yourself go?
A Newsletter? A LinkedIn post? A YouTube video?
It might be garbage, but you'll never know if you never make it.
Oh, and the song?
Blowin' in the wind
Ironic
My first 3 clients didn't come through cold DM's, posting on social, or a lead magnet.
They all came from free-consulting and a genuine interest in what those people were doing.
If you're just getting started, prioritize the people and the products you want to work with and then...work with them.
• Download their stuff • Give them feedback • Engage in their community
Make the things you wish they had...
And give it away for free.
No strings attached.
You'll learn something and you'll make a new friend.
And if it turns into cash, bonus.
