K. Krasnow Waterman is a renowned "fire jumper" with a rich background in quickly transforming organizations within data-intensive settings, incorporating innovation, while driving down costs and risk. She has held various executive roles in large corporations, as well as founded, managed, and advised start-ups, small, and medium-sized businesses.
Transitioning from managing technology to practicing law, K. served as the inception Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the first post-9/11 data analytics facility under the White House. She later spearheaded the restructuring of the FBI's intelligence operations and has been instrumental in leadership positions at Wall Street giants like TIAA, Citi, and JPMorgan. K. also played a key role in establishing MIT's Linked Data Product Lab, imparting web technology and start-up expertise to foster entrepreneurial ventures.
Highly skilled in various domains such as Big Data, New Tech, Operations and Tech Management, Information Governance, Privacy, Cybersecurity, and Legal matters including FinTech and RegTech, K. Waterman brings a wealth of experience in Information Technology research, design, and implementation, compliance, anti-money laundering, counter-fraud, counter-terrorism, and policy formulation.
Education-wise, K. pursued her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Pennsylvania, followed by a Sloan Fellowship in Management of Technology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Juris Doctorate from the Cardozo School of Law.
Having served on the board of Cross River, and held advisory roles in various organizations including Open Consent Group and MIT, K. Waterman has also enriched her career by serving as the CEO of LawTechIntersect, LLC, an Entrepreneur In Residence & Lecturer at the University of Arizona, Managing Partner & Chief Technology Officer at Ranieri Strategies, LLC, and in significant positions at TIAA-CREF, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Department of Justice.
