Kaan Namli

Head of Movement Relations and Partnerships at Türk Kızılayı; PhD Candidate at METU

Kaan Namli is a Canadian-Turkish researcher with a diverse background in international governmental and non-governmental organizations focused on humanitarian assistance and development.

His expertise lies in strategy and policy development, external and public relations, policy advising, humanitarian diplomacy, resource mobilization, partnerships, capacity support, and research and analysis.

Currently pursuing a PhD at the Middle East Technical University, his research combines international relations and sociology to explore the connection between nationalism, humanitarian aid, and foreign policy in Turkey and the wider region.

He holds a master's degree in International Relations from Bilkent University and has an undergraduate diploma in political sociology from the University of Guelph in Canada.

Throughout his career, Kaan has held various roles such as Head of Movement Relations and Partnerships at Türk Kızılayı, Senior Advisor at IFRC, Project Coordinator at the EU Delegation to Turkey, and Research Assistant at Bilkent University among others.
