As some of you may or may not already know, my family is one of the nearly 700 families across the UK currently awaiting the life-saving gift of a liver transplant.
This morning, The BBC published the below about just how long this wait really is for young people - for us, it's been about 285 days. Those days have been filled with weddings, birthdays, and other incredibly happy memories and milestones - they have also been filled with many nights in the hospital, many blood transfusions, exactly 4 9-9-9 calls and ambulance rides, and a great deal of stress.
My humble request to you is that you please take the time to check your organ donation status, and if you're able, to please ensure you're registered as willing to be an organ donor.
