Kalvin Korpela is a seasoned professional with over 12 years of experience in delivering cutting-edge signal integrity, power integrity, timing analysis, and EMC solutions for leading companies such as Qualcomm, Nvidia, Nortel Networks, and Bell Northern Research.

He has played a pivotal role in influencing the electrical integrity development of numerous high-performance programs, including mobile SOCs like Snapdragon-Galaxy processor, GPUs such as PlayStation® 3 RSX, data networking equipment like 7.6 Tbps Optera Connect HDX, optical transceivers such as OC-768 and 10 Gbps serial XFP, high-performance busses like LPDDR2(3), and stacked silicon like TSV.

Kalvin's expertise includes generating and executing test cases, EM modeling, Hspice simulation, measurement and statistical performance analysis, setting target specifications and integrity guidelines, and contributing to whitepapers and application notes in electrical integrity.

He has a remarkable track record of achieving first-time EMC passes on a range of products, from unshielded PBXs to shielded terabit switch products, covering emissions, RF and conducted immunity, ESD, and fast transients.

Additionally, Kalvin has received recognition for his contributions, including 3 patents, 10 patent submissions approved, shared team awards, and effective troubleshooting skills. He is passionate about discussing, presenting, and evolving electrical integrity methods.

Kalvin Korpela pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics, Biology, Statistics at Queen's University, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering at the University of Ottawa. He has held key roles in various organizations, including Staff Engineer Signal, Timing and Power Integrity / Package Modeling at Qualcomm, Senior Signal Integrity Engineer at NVIDIA, and Senior Signal Integrity / EMC Architect at Nortel Networks.
