Embracing the Fear of Failure
In both our personal and professional lives, the fear of failure can often feel overwhelming. However, failure should not be viewed as a final defeat but rather as a critical stepping stone towards growth and success.
As people function leaders, it's vital that we cultivate environments where failure is not stigmatized but embraced as a powerful learning experience. The journey from fear to innovation involves acknowledging our failures, reflecting on them, and using those lessons to build resilience.
We need to create a pathway that takes the employees from confronting the fear of failure to ultimately fostering innovation and growth within our teams and organizations. By encouraging open discussions and challenging the stigma around failure, we can unlock our true potential and drive continuous improvement.
Let's embrace our failures, learn from them, and lead with courage. 🌱

Why Has the Hospitality Industry Stopped Doing the "Service" in Service?
It’s frustrating to witness the decline in service quality within the hospitality industry—a sector that should epitomize exceptional customer service. I am compelled to voice my concerns about the alarming trends that are eroding the core values of hospitality. When I try to think of the reasons, this is what I come up with;
Over-Reliance on Technology: Automation is meant to assist, not replace human interaction. However, many hotels and restaurants are overusing technology at the expense of the personalized service guests expect and deserve. During the pandemic, the use of QR codes increased in restaurants, but now, it is a gimmick to gather your info. Why do I need to give my number, and address, to order a damn soup??? Whatever happened to looking at the menu, could you point at the item, and you are done? From a 2 step process, it has become an endless void.
Poor Quality: In a bid to reduce expenses, many establishments are downsizing their staff and skimping on training. This not only burdens the remaining employees but also severely impacts the quality of service delivered to customers. While the COVID-19 pandemic has undoubtedly challenged the industry, it cannot excuse the ongoing neglect of service quality. Instead of cutting corners, this should have been a time to innovate and enhance guest experiences.
